morning Captain
this is just to say
I'm safely down
out of my tree
have rented a mountain
lair near Snowdon
& completed my translation
of Wasserkäfer's
poem to a dog:
                Haggis
                overweight &
                independent
                minded Scottish
                terrier called
                Haggis
                well you
                can stay
                & feed
                the ducks
                is missing
                from a human
                point of view
                                & yet
                from Haggis's
                perspective
                reclining
                as he does
                beguilingly
                like this
                upon the sun-blessed
                pavement
                just outside
                the Cowley branch
                of the North
                Cornwall Pasty
                Company shop
                hello yourself
                everything
                & everyone
                is where
                they need
                to be
                & dandy
