THE PICTURE OF A WEDDING

Great Grandfather
never great or grand
his great grandson
also struggles to stand.

He's cashing in his
time already
and the old man
like the rest of us

has spent because
the account
must always empty.
Just watching here

in the garden
is worth it.
Small blades
rotate, thin hours

peel off and
float away,
they are the dust
beneath the boards,

inside a closed
piano, behind
the picture
of a wedding.
